Dead body recovered from Brahmaputra River at Narengi

A dead body was recovered from the Brahmaputra River bank near Shristi Nagar in Soonchali of Narengi. The dead body was floating in the river and early on Tuesday morning, the locals discovered it and then informed the police.

However, the dead body hasn’t been identified yet. Locals allege that the deceased might have been killed and the body was disposed in the river. Locals also allege that various youths come to the river bank of the area to drink in the evening time and some quarrel may have happened with the deceased who was eventually and dumped into the river.

The police have taken note of the locals’ opinions and initial investigation regarding the case is going on. Till now the police has not been able to identify the cause of the death and the body has been sent for forensics and further investigation
