Dry Day in Assam on 2nd-3rd May with certain exception
Excise Department has declared ‘Dry Day’ in all districts of Assam on 2nd and 3rd May. The counting of the votes for the state assembly elections will begin on 2nd May.
To prevent any untoward situation the state excise department has written to the Deputy Commissioners and Excise officials of all districts to implement dry day on the 2nd and 3rd of May.
However, the official statement also reads that those districts were the counting process is completed before 3rd of May, the order shall not be continued for the second day, meaning there will be no ‘Dry Day’ on the 3rd May for those districts.
