Eminent Assamese Tea Industrialist and Social Worker Mahadeo Jalan no more

Guwahati, July 23 (NKTV): Eminent Tea Industrialist and Social Worker from Assam Mahadeo Jalan breathed his last today morning in Dibrugarh.

He was 86 years old at the time of his demise.

“Saddened by the passing away of prominent tea planter & social worker of Assam Sri Mahadeo Jalan. He died at Dibrugarh in the wee hours of today. Jalan ji’s contribution to Assam’s economy and society will always be remembered. My condolences to the bereaved family” Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma stated in a post on Twitter.

It may be mentioned here that Jalan had donated land for iconic landmarks in Dibrugarh such as the Jagannath Temple, the Indoor and Outdoor Sport Stadiums, the Murleidhor Jalan Bus Stand and various Naamghars among others.
