Temperatures in several states of India have been recording above normal temperature in March this year. But Why? IMD’s Director-General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra has given the perfect factual answers to it. According to him, two main reasons for excessive heat in the month of March are because of no active western disturbances, which bring colder winds and lack of pre-monsoon showers has contributed to the overall heating.
Mrutyunjay Mohapatra further said hot winds from the deserts of northwest India contribute to soaring temperatures in central regions.
