Guwahati, August 05 (NKTV): Acting on a intelligence input from SB Assam, a raid was conducted in connection with printing and circulation of fake currencies, in which a woman namely Mamoni Roy Boro was arrested and based on her lead, two printers and one desktop computer suspected to be used in printing currency notes were seized from the house of one Mizo Lady namely Lucy at Mathura Nagar, Dispur.
During further course of investigation, successive raids were conducted at the house of one Ajmal Haque of Village No. 2 Chakla Barua, PS Boko and his rented room at Fatasil Ambari from where the following items were recovered
- Suspected fake currency notes amounting to Rs. 1 lakh
- 9 nos of fake currency notes
- One EPSON printer
- One Heat Sealer machine
- One Bright office paper cutter
- One ream black paper
- Reams of JK super white bond paper
- Polymer paper
- SIM cards, ATM Cards, various suspected identity cards
- Assam Police t shirt
- Media passes in the name of the accused.
The wife of the absconding accused Ajmal Haque has been apprehended for interrogation. Efforts are ongoing to nab all involved.
