Fate of the Band Party Musicians of Assam during Covid | MLA comes to one-time rescue
Guwahati, June 16 (NKTV): Biya (Marriage) and Band Party in Assam are like the two sides of the same coin but with the onset of Covid and lockdown last year and subsequent second wave this year, the Band Party musicians too have fallen prey to unwaged survival. The artists who were the centre of attraction in marriages of the state, today, tussle to bring in two square meals a day.
Because of the Covid Protocol/SOP prevalent in the state, a maximum of 10 people are allowed to gather in a marriage ceremony and as such, no question of hiring a Band Party arises.
Recently, Chaygaon MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed came to the rescue of the artists in the region and distributed relief materials. He also provided financial assistance to seven artists and urged people to come forward to help the musicians who make a marriage lively.
