Former Assam Cricketer Paragjyoti Kalita succumbs to Covid-19, ACA pay condolences

Paragjyoti Kalita, a former cricketer of Assam have succumbed to Covid-19 on May 29 at GMCH at 7:45 AM after suffering from prolonged illness. He was 53 years old, and left behind his wife, a son and a daughter.

A native of Nagaon who was currently residing in Lachitnagar, Guwahati, late Paragjyoti Kalita represented Assam in the Vijay Merchant Trophy (1982-83), Cooch Behar Trophy (1983-84, 84-85 and 85-86), and C.K. Nayudu School Tournament (1982-83). He also represented East Zone in the Inter-Zonal Cooch Behar Trophy in 1983-84, besides representing Nagaon district in the R.G. Baruah (U-15) Inter-District Cricket Tournament and J.K. Baruah (U-19) Inter-District Cricket Tournament.

Romen Dutta, President, Assam Cricket Association and Devajit Saikia, Secretary, Assam Cricket Association and other officials condoled the untimely demise of Paragjyoti Kalita and paid homage to the departed soul.
