Govt. prohibits use of Remdesivir in Corona-infected children
Guwahati, June 10 (NKTV): The Government of India has strictly forbidden the use of Remdesivir in children infected with corona virus in the comprehensive guidelines for management of Covid-19 in children below 18 years issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The DGHS has informed that there is lack of sufficient safety and efficacy data about the use of Remdesivir in children below 18 years of age.
DGHS has also advised to avoid self medication of steroids. It has recommended that use of steroids is harmful in asymptomatic and mild cases of COVID-19.
