Guwahati, August 07 (NKTV): In connection with Bharalamukh PS Case No. 652/2021, last night, drugs peddler Kurapan Ali aka Kurban Ali was apprehended yesterday with suspected Heroin and other items including cash and gold.
Ali was leading the Police party of Bharalumukh PS to Matia in order to locate his associates while he tried to flee by injuring and snatching the carbine of constable Ashit Boro.
The accused had to be fired upon to recapture him and recover the arms. Ali was hurt in the leg during the skirmish.
Both Ali and the injured Constable were rushed to Azara Rural Hospital for treatment, from where the accused was shifted to GMCH as referred by Azara Hospital.
