Guwahati, June 19 (NKTV): A team of Kohora Police in Kaziranga has seized large quantity of illicit liquor from two locations at Kohora.
As per reports, an individual identified as one Digraj Prasad has been apprehended in relation with the illegal liquor business. Prasad had been running the illegal business from his home. The team also seized liquor from another household based on the confession of Prasad.
Notably, Digraj Prasad is also associated with a prominent environmental organization.
Since the formation of the new government last month, Assam Police has been ramping up its fight against various illegal activities in the state including human trafficking, drugs and cattle smuggling among others. The Police have informed that investigation is being conducted as they suspect more of such businesses being run in the region.
