IMD Forecasts Heatwave To Severe Heatwave Conditions Over East And South Peninsular India For Next 4 Days

India Meteorological Department, IMD has forecast heatwave to severe heatwave conditions over East and South Peninsular India for the next four days. The IMD said, heatwave conditions are expected to prevail in isolated pockets of Bihar, Jharkhand, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka and East Uttar Pradesh till 30th of this month and West Uttar Pradesh and Konkan will witness similar conditions till 29th of this month. The weather department further forecast a fresh spell of rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over Northwest India till Sunday.

Light to moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning are expected over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till 28th of April, with the possibility of hailstorms and isolated heavy rainfall for the next two days. Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh will also witness rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and winds gusting upto 40 kilometers per hour till tomorrow. Strong surface winds upto 35 kilometers per hour will prevail over Uttar Pradesh and south Rajasthan for the next two days.

On hot and humid weather, the IMD said, these conditions are very likely to prevail over Tripura, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Assam, Meghalaya, Konkan and Goa from today till 28th of April.

Meanwhile, the IMD also said that Delhi will witness thunderstorms with rain and strong surface winds for the next few days. The maximum temperature in the national capital is expected to hover between 39 to 40 degrees Celsius till 29th of this month.
