The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal today. It also said that light to moderate rainfall is expected over Kerala and Mahe during the next two days.
According to IMD, there is an expected fall in minimum temperature over North and East India during the next 2-3 days. The weather office has also predicted that Delhi and NCR are likely to experience smog and shallow fog during the night and morning hours till tomorrow.
The air quality in the Delhi-NCR region remained in a poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 298 this morning.
As per the data of CPCB, the AQI of several parts of the city are in a very poor category. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 382, Burari Crossing recorded 318, Sonia Vihar’s AQI reached 328, Punjabi Bagh recorded an AQI of 339, and Rohini recorded an AQI 311.
