IMD predicts scorching heat as temperatures soar

Delhi is set to experience intense heat in the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a significant rise in temperatures on April 7 and 8. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 40°C and 42°C. Along with Delhi, other northern states such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh are also on alert for heatwave conditions throughout the week.

For Saturday, Delhi’s weather forecast includes strong surface winds and the possibility of isolated heatwave conditions in certain areas. On Friday, the capital recorded a maximum temperature of 38.4°C, which was 4.4°C above the usual for this time of year, while the minimum temperature was 18.8°C, according to the MeT department.
