India reports two cases of Omicron Covid-19 variant

India reported its first two cases of the Omicron Covid-19 variant in Karnataka. According to reports, the two cases has been detected in two men aged 46 and 66. The Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry in a statement said “Two cases of #Omicron Variant reported in the country so far. Both cases from Karnataka.”


Earlier, Maharashtra Tourism and Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray on Monday revealed that since November 10, around 1,000 travellers from South Africa have landed in Mumbai. The Omicron variant cases has been found in countries like South Africa, US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Botswana, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, UK and now in India.
