Founder of Eenadu Group and prominent figure in Media, Ch Ramoji Rao has passed away this morning in Hyderabad. He was 87.
Mr Rao had been admitted to a private hospital at Nanakramguda in the city on 5th of this month due to health issues and succumbed to his illness early this morning in the hospital.
The revered entrepreneur has been battling chronic illness and health complications for the past some time.
As per his own media, preparations are underway to keep the mortal remains to his residence in Ramoji Film City, where family, friends, and well-wishers will pay their last respects to the departed soul.
Ramoji Rao was well-known for managing numerous businesses including the Eenadu Group, Ramoji Film City, Margadarsi Chit Funds, and Priya Foods.
Under his leadership, Eenadu became a major media force in Telugu-speaking areas and a major political influencer at one point of time.
President Droupadi Murmu expressed her grief over the passing away of prominent figure in Media and Founder of Eenadu Group, Ramoji Rao.
In a social media post, The President said that with the demise of Mr. Rao, India has lost a titan of the media and entertainment sector.
An innovative entrepreneur, President Murmu said that Mr. Rao pioneered a number of ventures, including the Eenadu newspaper, ETV news network and Ramoji Film City.
She said that honoured with Padma Vibhushan, Mr. Rao succeeded as his vision was essentially rooted in society.
The President said that his contributions to this industry will be long remembered. She conveyed her condolences to his family and well-wishers.
