India’s Meiraba Luwang Maisnam advances to Quarters of Thailand Open

In Badminton, India’s Meiraba Luwang Maisnam has advanced to the Men’s singles Quarter Finals of the prestigious Thailand Open Badminton in Bangkok, Thailand today. The 21 year old Indian shuttler stunned Mads Christophersen of Denmark in straight games, 21-14, 22-20, to march into his first quarter-final in the Super 500 tournament.

In women’s singles, India’s Ashmita Chaliha is scheduled to face the top seeded Han Yue of China in the second round this afternoon. While in Men’s Doubles, the star Indian duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will take on the Chinese pair of Xie Hao Nan and Zeng Wei Han in the round of 16. In the women’s doubles, Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa will lock horns with En-Tzu Hung and Yu-Pei Lin of Taiwan, while another doubles pair of Rutaparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda will take on Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanish of Japan, in the pre-quarters this afternoon.
