The 21 year old Indian shuttler stunned Mads Christophersen of Denmark in straight games, 21-14, 22-20, to march into his first quarter-final in the Super 500 tournament.
In women’s singles, India’s Ashmita Chaliha is scheduled to face the top seeded Han Yue of China in the second round this afternoon.
