Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) Football Assessment at SAI Guwahati
Under the ongoing KIRTI sports talent assessment programme at SAI Guwahati, football assessment has been conducted on 31st March. Approximately 350 school students from different schools of Kamrup, Kamrup Metro and Morigaon districts participated in the selection assessment. The students underwent a battery of ten physical fitness tests designed to assess their physical attributes. Following these tests, students participated in football assessment. Till now approximately 800 school students have taken the assessment in Boxing, Kho Kho, Archery, Athletics and Football.
This marks the completion of KIRTI assessment at SAI Guwahati. In future, KIRTI assessment drive will be organised in all SAI Centres of Assam. It is expected that the KIRTI will pave the way for tapping the untapped latent sporting talent at grassroot level in a decentralized manner. KIRTI aims to create a large pool of feeder athletes who will represent India in International Sporting events and be put on the ‘path to fame’ i.e. KIRTI.
