In a last over thriller, Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 4 wickets in IPL.
Winning the toss, MI skipper Rohit Sharma decided to field first on a batting pitch. For CSK Ambati Rayudu played a splendid innings of 72 runs in just 27 balls. Moeen Ali scored 58 and Faf du Plessis scored 50 which helped the MS Dhoni side to get a score of 218 in 20 overs. For MI, Kieron Pollard got 2 wickets.
Chasing a mammoth target of 219, MI openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton De Kock gave them a flying start but were dismissed by the CSK bowlers and MI were struggling at 81/3. But thereafter Kieron Pollard’s stunning innings of 87 runs in just 37 balls helped the MI to gain victory over CSK. Pollard for his outstanding performance was awarded man of the match.
Meanwhile, there will be two matches held in IPL today. In the first match Rajasthan Royals is to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Delhi and in the second match Punjab Kings will face Delhi Capitals in Ahmedabad.
