Guwahati, August 26 (NKTV): In yet another encounter in the state, a dacoit has been injured in Lakhimpur. Identified as one Azhar Ali, the dacoit was shot at by the police while he tried to escape from police custody.
Ali was arrested in relation to the dacoity at the residence of one Prem Mahanta on August 22.
As informed by officials, three bullets hit the leg of Azhar Ali and is presently undergoing treatment at the Lakhimpur Civil Hospital.
It may be mentioned here that Azhar Ali is also involved in incidents of ATM loot.
