Maana Patel qualifies for Tokyo Olympics, first Indian female swimmer to do so

Guwahati, July 2 (NKTV): Indian backstroke swimmer Maana Patel on Friday became the first female and only the third swimmer from the country to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.

Maana Patel, who hails from Ahmedabad, has now joined Srihari Nataraj and Sajan Prakash to qualify for the event.

Sports Minister Kiren Rijuju has congratulated Patel on her success.

Maana will take part in the 100m backstroke at the Tokyo Olympics.

Her participation in the Tokyo Olympics has been confirmed through ‘Universality quota’, Rijuju stated.
