Guwahati, July 6 (NKTV): In a major drug bust in Arunachal Pradesh, Papum Pare (Rural) District Police along with its Itanagar Capital Complex counterpart on Sunday night arrested six persons, including a Government Departmental driver and a woman, who is said to be the kingpin along with one of the chief drug suppliers in the capital.
Acting on specific inputs, the police intercepted a government vehicle. When searched, the team recovered and seized four packets of suspected heroin, weighing 41.35 gram, from the vehicle. The vehicle was seized immediately and the driver and passenger apprehended.
It was also revealed that out of the four heroin packets, three were to be delivered at 6 Kilo area and the fourth one was to be delivered to the chief supplier Yayi Lendo at her rented house at Abotani Colony, Itanagar.
Acting on the leads gained, a joint team of police from Capital and Papum Pare (Rural) arrested three other peddlers from the 6 Kilo area. Subsequently, the house of Yayi Lendo was searched in presence of magistrate from where 184 empty vials (used for selling drugs), one injection, two dummy pistols and cash of Rs 52,000 were recovered.
A case has been registered at Doimukh Police Station and further investigation is underway.
