Many BJP workers enter Assam amid poll violence in West Bengal

Amid the violence in West Bengal around 300 to 400 people from the state, mostly BJP workers and supporters, have entered Assam through the border for shelter on Tuesday. Bengal is in midst of election violence as BJP and TMC have unleashed the terror in the state.

Assam BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma, slamming Mamata Banerjee led TMC wrote on Twitter, “In a sad development 300-400 @BJP4Bengal karyakartas and family members have crossed over to Dhubri in Assam after confronted with brazen persecution & violence. We’re giving shelter & food. @MamataOfficial Didi must stop this ugly dance of democracy! Bengal deserves better.”

The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has alleged that Trinamool Congress (TMC) goons have attacked its workers following West Bengal Assembly election results. At least six BJP workers have died in the violence and the party has announced to hold a nationwide dharna on May 5 against the widespread violence unleashed allegedly by the TMC workers post the results of the assembly elections.
