MC Mary Kom and Manpreet Singh named Flag Bearers in Tokyo Olympics Opening Ceremony

Guwahati, July 5 (NKTV): Six-time World Boxing Champion MC Mary Kom and Indian Men’s Hockey team skipper Manpreet Singh have been named as Flag Bearers at opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympics.

Wrestler Bajrang Punia will be the Flag Bearer at the closing ceremony on August 08.

It may be mentioned here that India shall two flag bearers, one male and one female, at the Olympics. This has been done to ensure gender equality.

President of Indian Weightlifting Federation Assam’s Birendra Prasad Baishya has been named Chef de Mission for the Tokyo Olympics.
