Guwahati, June 16 (NKTV): Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday held a meeting with state Home Minister and reviewed the proposal of Home (Police) Department for raising of new battalion and upgradation of existing police stations and outposts.

Sangma said that there is a strong need to improve the infrastructure and increase manpower of the state Police Force. Sangma informed that there are adequate numbers of Police Stations and Outposts; however, the existing manpower is not enough to serve the people in the most efficient way. “Posts shall be filled up and manpower achieved for smooth functioning of all stations and outposts” Sangma said.

The CM also informed that the state government would have to look at the financial implications to proceed with the enhancement process smoothly.
