Mini food park, 200 food processing units to be set up in BTR: Rameswar Teli

Guwahati, July 5 (NKTV): Union Minister of State for Food processing and Industries Rameswar Teli today visited Kokrajhar and attended a meeting with Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) CEM Pramod Boro and BTC officials. Teli discussed the prospects of food processing industries in BTR at the BTC Secretariat.

Teli took stock about the feasibility of food processing and industries in BTR districts.

The Minister also visited at Central Institute of Technology (CIT) and Bodoland University during his visit.

Addressing media persons, Teli said that the government is emphasizing development and growth of food processing units and industries across Assam. He informed about the settling up of one mini food park in BTR and 200 micro food processing units in BTR in days to come.

He further informed that the northeast region is getting 20,000 micro food processing units, of which Assam shall have 13,000. “The union government has been emphasizing on upliftment and development of the food processing industries across the country” he said.
