Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin took oath as the new chief minister of Tamil Nadu on Friday morning, 7th May. Along with the chief minister 33 others also took oath as cabinet ministers of Tamil Nadu. The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by Tamil Nadu’s governor Banwarilal Purohit in the Raj Bhavan at Chennai.
Chief Minister MK Stalin will also hold portfolios like home ministry, police services and administrative. Stalin at age 69 has became the oldest chief minister to take oath ever in Tamil Nadu political history.
Stalin has been an MLA seven times and was elected as the Mayor of Chennai twice. The chief minister after taking oath said that his first priority will be to combat Covid-19 as the situation in the state of Tamil Nadu is getting worse everyday
