Guwahati, June 27 (NKTV): With the Modi Cabinet Reshuffle imminent, 27 probable candidates have been shortlisted for the posts in central government.
The names include heavyweights of the likes of Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sushil Modi, Narayan Rane, Bhupender Yadav and along with them former Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal among others.
Kailash Vijayvargiya, who headed the BJP’s campaign in West Bengal, is also among the probable candidates.. BJP spokesperson Syed Zafar Islam is also reported to be considered for a central government position.
It may be mentioned here that Sarbananda Sonowal had been making base at Delhi recently and met PM Narendra Modi as well as HM Amit Shah, hence, making him a strong candidate for a post in the central government.
Reportedly, former Maharashtra CM Narayan Rane is also included in the list while New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi is the lone candidate from Delhi.
As per sources, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Jain and former Railway Minister from Bengal Dinesh Trivedi are also on the list.
It may be mentioned here that this will be the first such expansion after PM Modi-led BJP came back to power in 2019. Currently, union ministers have been fulfilling duties in multiple portfolios due to deaths and exits in the cabinet.
