In a thrilling encounter at the 70th Bharat Ratna Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy, Global FC edged past Oil India FC with a 3-2 victory at Judges’ Field, Guwahati. The match, which kept the spectators on the edge of their seats, saw an outstanding performance from Nicodim Narzary, whose hat-trick sealed the win for Global FC.
Global FC took the lead early in the 17th minute when Nicodim Narzary found the back of the net. He continued his dominance by scoring again in the 43rd minute, giving his team a comfortable lead going into halftime. Oil India FC, however, was determined to fight back. Tupu Brahma ignited hope for his team with a goal in the 50th minute, bringing the score to 2-1.
Narzary completed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute, restoring Global FC’s two-goal advantage. Despite Oil India FC’s relentless efforts, they could only manage to pull one back in the 87th minute through Tupu Brahma’s second goal of the match.
The game saw its fair share of disciplinary actions, with Global FC’s Abhishek Sinha (43′), Lahit Narzary (55′), and Bikash Hazowary (73′) receiving yellow cards. Oil India FC’s Tupu Brahma was also booked in the 80th minute.
For his sensational performance, Nicodim Narzary was awarded the Player of the Match, with the trophy presented by L Hemanta Singh.
With this win, Global FC strengthens its position in the tournament, while Oil India FC will look to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures. The prestigious tournament, organized by the Guwahati Sports Association with support from the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam, and various District Sports Associations, continues to showcase exhilarating football action.
