Over 6000 Covid-19 cases are detected in Guwahati in just 10 days
On 25th April, fourteen people died of Covid-19 virus in Assam. While 558 people were discharged after being tested negative of the virus, 1844 fresh positive cases were recorded. With this, Assam currently has 15,470 active cases.
In the Kamrup Metropolitan District alone, 791 new Covid-19 cases were detected on 25th April and 8 people succumbed to the virus. As per records of the National Health Mission, Assam, in the past 10 days 6026 people of Guwahati have been infected by the virus, which is the highest amongst all districts of Assam.
Kamrup(M) is followed by Kamrup (Rural) with 1032 cases in the last 10 days and Dibrugarh awith 961 cases. The positivity rate in the state has also gone up to 5.48 percent.
Meanwhile, India on Sunday reported 3,52,991 Covid-19 cases and 2,812 deaths, continuing to break its own record of the highest positive cases detected in a single day. Currently there are 28,13,658 active Covid-19 cases in the country.
