Guwahati, June 22 (NKTV): As per latest reports of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), monsoon showers are expected to continue over parts of Northeast India and adjoining East India this week, with heavy rainfall likely in isolated places across the region for the nest four to five days.
Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, along with isolated heavy showers, have been forecast over Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, West Bengal and Sikkim in this period.
The Weather Channel’s met team has predicted isolated heavy rains over Sikkim from Tuesday to Friday; Assam and Meghalaya from Tuesday to Thursday and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura tomorrow.
Meanwhile, since the beginning of the monsoon period over India on June 01, the eastern states have received above-average rainfall, while the northeastern region has recorded normal to below-average precipitation.
