The prices of petrol and diesel in India have been hiked for the fourth consecutive day amid the spike in Covid-19 cases and economic slowdown due to local lockdowns.
In the national capital, New Delhi, the price of petrol has been hiked by 28 paise and 31 paise has been raised for diesel on Friday. Currently the price of petrol in New Delhi is Rs 91.27 per litre and that of diesel is Rs 81.73.
Not only in New Delhi, prices of petrol and diesel have increased all over the country and it is happening due to increase in price of crude oil across the globe.
In Guwahati, the price of petrol as on 7th May is Rs. 87.83 per litre, an increase in Rs. 0.08 since yesterday. Price of diesel has gone up by Rs. 0.13 to Rs. 82.20 per litre.
The central and state taxes have gone over 61 percent which has also played a vital role in the hike of petrol and diesel prices.
