Guwahati, June 22 (NKTV): Assam water resource Minister Pijush Hazarika on Tuesday hinted on the possibility of imposing Total Lockdown in Sonitpur District. During a Media interaction, the Minister said that cases of COVID-19 are increasing at a rapid rate in the District. “If People do not take the restrictions seriously, we may have to impose total Lockdown”, added the Minister implying the possibility of Lockdown. “We understand that imposing Total Lockdown hinders work, Business and Establishments.
Many People have to face various hardships. But considering the Current situation, I would say that chances of Total Lockdown are not that thin”, added the Minister. In an Official Order issued on Monday, the State Government stated that Sonitpur will be under close watch as it is among the 5 Districts showing persistently high number COVID cases.
