Rajasthan Royals defeat Punjab Kings by 2 runs in a nail-biting thriller

Guwahati, September 22 (NKTV): In a nail-biting banter, Rajasthan Royals defeated the KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings by 2 runs in the ongoing 2nd phase of IPL 2021. Winning the toss Punjab Kings decided to bowl first on a fierce Dubai wicket with a hint of grass on the pitch. For Rajasthan, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the highest run of 49 runs. But in the end, young Mahipal Lomror scored a dashing 43 of just 17 balls which help the Royals to score a respectable total of 185 runs in 20 overs.

Meanwhile, for Punjab, Arshdeep Singh took a five-wicket haul by giving away 32 runs in his four overs quota.

Chasing a target of 186 runs, Punjab Kings opener KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal got the team off to a flying start. Both the openers added 120 runs for the first wicket but later both were dismissed by Rajasthan bowlers which helped them to make a comeback in the game. The main turning point came at the end of the match where Rajasthan successfully defended the total and won the match by just a margin of 2 runs.

While today Sunrisers Hyderabad to face Delhi Capitals at the Dubai International stadium.
