Tollywood actor Ram Charan has emerged as a significant promoter of Assam’s development by actively supporting the Advantage Assam 2.0 investment summit held in Guwahati on February 25 and 26, 2025.

The summit, graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was a major success, attracting investments totaling Rs. 4.91 lakh crore. These investments are expected to provide a substantial boost to Assam’s development in sectors such as energy, tourism, and infrastructure.

On social media platform X, Ram Charan expressed his appreciation for Greenko’s Anil Kumar Chalamalasetty and Mahesh Kolli, praising their commitment to clean energy, particularly their Rs. 5,850 crore investment in Assam’s renewable energy projects.

In response, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended an invitation to Ram Charan to visit Assam and explore its potential and rich heritage. The actor enthusiastically accepted, further enhancing Assam’s visibility on a national level.

The summit attracted global attention, with Japan’s The Asahi Shimbun highlighting Assam’s strategic approach to attracting international investors. Singapore’s The Straits Times hailed the event as a “game-changer” for Northeast India, emphasizing its role in promoting regional connectivity and economic integration within the ASEAN framework.

Ram Charan’s connection with Assam dates back to 2017 when he visited Guwahati to promote his film Dhruva and supported the “Aid for Assam Flood” campaign. His involvement in Advantage Assam 2.0 not only contributes to the economic story but also brings a cultural dimension, positioning Assam for a transformative era of development that blends economic growth with cultural pride.
