In a momentous event at Cotton University today, Riyan Parag, the celebrated cricketer from Assam, was conferred a bachelor’s degree in sports during the institution’s convocation ceremony. This achievement underscores Parag’s dedication not only to cricket but also to academic excellence.

Born on November 10, 2001, in Guwahati, Riyan Parag’s cricketing journey began at a young age. He first garnered attention during India’s 2017 Under-19 tour of England, where he showcased his batting prowess by scoring three fifties in four innings. His consistent performances earned him a spot in the Indian squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand, a tournament India clinched.

Parag’s domestic career has been noteworthy. In First-Class cricket, representing Assam, he has amassed 2,042 runs in 33 matches, averaging 35.82, with a highest score of 155. In List A cricket, he boasts 1,735 runs in 50 matches at an impressive average of 41.30, including five centuries and eight fifties. His T20 statistics are equally commendable, with 2,722 runs in 123 matches, maintaining a strike rate of 143.94.
