Guwahati, 17 May 2024: Rajasthan Royals’ social equity arm, the Royal Rajasthan Foundation, extended their #PinkPromise initiative to the NorthEast on Wednesday evening when 20 women entrepreneurs were invited to witness the team’s match against Punjab Kings at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati.
Hailing from the Bodo Baligaon, Garo and Mishing villages in Balipara, Sonitpur District in Assam, these 20 women are entrepreneurs who have been taking the lead in eco-tourism initiatives which include managing homestays, overseeing plantation and agroforestry committees. Women beneficiaries who are working on solar power programs, and being supported by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation were also present on the occasion.
By extending the #PinkPromise initiative to a wider population in India, and initiating from the team’s second home of Assam, the Royal Rajasthan Foundation aims to support the women of Assam who rarely get the chance to take time away from their duties, and hence invited them to witness a cricket match.
The Sanju Samson-led team will be taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday evening at the ACA Stadium in a top of the table clash.
