Rs 2.5 lakh to Assam widows who lost their husbands to Covid-19

Guwahati, June 28 (NKTV): The Government of Assam has launched the Chief Minister’s Covid-19 Widows Support Scheme that shall provide a one-time grant of 2.5 lakh rupees to the women of Assam who lost their husbands to Covid-19.

“Many precious lives were lost due to #COVID19, leaving a number of families in distress. In our sincere effort to provide some relief to women whose husbands died of the disease, Rs 2.5 lakh will be given to such eligible widows as one time grant.” Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a tweet.

The CM has directed Deputy Commissioners to compile the list of eligible beneficiaries from the NHM data of Covid-19 victims.
