India’s prime Covid-19 vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute of India (SII) on Wednesday announced that it will sell its ‘Covishield’ vaccine to state governments at ₹400/dose and to private hospitals at ₹600/dose.
The Serum Institute further also revealed that 50% of their vaccine stocks will be given to Central Government under the vaccination programme and the remaining ones will be given to private hospitals and state governments. In an official statement SII has informed that it will increase the production of ‘Covishield’ in the next two month.
The statement comes after the Centre empowered vaccine manufacturers to release 50 percent of their supply the states and in the open market at a pre-declared price. Also, states have been amid the deteriorating Covid-19 situation across India.
