Indian Boxer Shiva Thapa have stormed into the finals of Asian Boxing Championships in 64 kg category on Friday. Boxer Thapa defeated the top-seeded defending champion Bakhodur Usmonov of Tajikistan 4-0 to make his way into the finals. With this win Shiva Thapa is now assured of getting at least a sliver medal but the boxer will be looking for a golden finish.
Shiva Thapa will play against Mongolia’s Baatarsukh Chinzorig for the gold medal match. Thapa’s counterpart Baatarsukh Chinzorig is the Asian Games silver-medalist. 27-year-old Shiva Thapa’s first medal at the event was a gold in 2013, followed by a bronze in 2015, a silver in 2017 and another bronze in 2019.
