Sports enthusiast KH Ibocha Singh passes away, Assam sports fraternity pay condolences
Noted sports organiser and social activist KH Ibocha Singh, passed away at 4:40 AM at Ayursundra Hospital, Guwahati on May 20, 2021. He was 78 years old, and left behind two daughters.
A resident of Rajbari, Manipuri Basti, Guwahati, Late KH Ibocha Singh started his career as a Hockey player. He was the Hockey Secretary of Guwahati Sports Association from 1977 to 1985 and 1985-1989, besides being the Football Secretary of Guwahati Sports Association from 1990-2000.
A Life Member of the Guwahati Sports Association since 1976, he was also the Joint Secretary of Guwahati Sports Association from 2004 to 2012, as well as the General Secretary of Guwahati Sports Association from 2012-2014. He was also state-level Football and Handball Referee, late KH Ibocha Singh was also a Governing Body Member of the Assam Football Association, besides holding the position of the Treasurer of the Assam Badminton Association from 1991-1993.
On the demise of the sports enthusiast, Romen Dutta, President and Devajit Saikia, Secretary, of Assam Cricket Association condoled the demise of the noted sports organiser and social activist. Naba Konwar, President and Nasir Gul Khan, General Secretary of Veteran Cricket Association of Assam (VCAA) also paid there condolences to the departed soul.
