Modern English School, Kahilipara, Guwahati conducted its 2nd edition of the Media Conclave on 5th October with the aim to unlock career potential in the Sports Industry.
Mr. Lakhya Konwar, Secretary of Assam Olympic Association, Mr. Ritu Raj Konwar, Senior assistant Photo Editor of The Hindu, Mr. Kulapradip Bhagawati, Regional Media Manager of Rajasthan Royals and Mr. Peter Alex Tod, Assignment Producer News 18 participated in the media conclave which was moderated by Mr. Pankaj Das, Director, Modern English School, Guwahati.
Mr. Lakhya Konwar, Secretary of Assam Olympic Association the occasion spoke about choosing sports as a career is not just about playing, there are multiple area where a student can focus. He also mentioned school should take steps and help students to watch matches which will help them understand and experience in real life. Sports Management, Sports Media Management, Guest Relations are some important area where students can focus.
Mr. Ritu Raj Konwar, senior assistant Photo Editor of The Hindu on the occasion shared his journey who he starred being a photo journalist in a regional vernacular papers to covering Paris Olympic for The Hindu. He also encouraged students to engage with sports along with education.
Mr. Kulapradip Bhagawati, Regional Media Manager of Rajasthan Royals and former Sports Journalist shared his journey from being a regional sports reporter in as Assamese daily and now he is working for IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals in the regional level, he encouraged students to explore more options which is not just restricted to being a player.
Mr. Peter Alex Tod, mentioned why young minds should give importance to sports along with education. He mentioned how government initiatives like Khel Maharan are important initiatives to develop sports in the region. He also mentioned he is personally developing his sports academy and encouraging girls to play football and other sports.

Over 100 students of Modern English School were present and interacted with the eminent media personalities and took their views on various topics like role of Media in promoting sports, opportunities in Sports Management and Journalism, influence of sports reporting on Athletics career etc.
