STF Assam Police, Karimganj Police seize contraband drugs worth Rs 100 crore
In a joint operation of STF and Karimganj Police led by DIG Parthasarathi Mahanta and SP Partha Protim Das huge quantity of drugs have been seized at Suprakandi under Nilam Bazar Police Station on Tuesday afternoon.
5.1 KG Heroin and 64,000 Yaba tablets, 4 packets of foreign cigarettes have also been found and seized. The Maruti S Presso vehicle bearing registration no. MZ 06 A 1422 has also been seized. Four persons have been arrested so far.

This is probably the highest seizure of drugs in Eastern India in terms of market value. This seizure is worth at the least Rs. 100 Crores in the market where prices have gone up due to continuous and effective operations and aggressive actions by Assam Police.
