Students stage protest demanding online examination amid Covid-19 pandemic

Students from various schools, colleges and Universities of Assam have staged protest against concerned authorities demanding that the upcoming examinations be conducted online amidst the glooming Covid-19 situation.

The students of Cotton University have staged protest in the varsity campus for postponement of Under Graduate (UG) first Semester exams. The exams were scheduled to be held from 23rd April. However, in view of the rising Covid-19 cases in Guwahati, the students are now demanding that the schedule be deferred. The protesting students have urged the authorities to conduct online examination if required.

The Goalpara Law College students have also staged a similar protest on Wednesday in demand of postponement of semester exams. Expressing concern they voted for online examinations rather than sitting offline.

Similar protests were seen in Gauhati University, Bodoland University as well as in Silchar, Kokrajhar, Mongoldoi and others.
