Tan Kim Her Returns as India’s Doubles Badminton Coach

The Badminton Association of India has appointed Malaysian doubles specialist Tan Kim Her as India’s doubles badminton coach. This marks his second stint with India. His first stint with India was between 2015 and 2019.

Instrumental in successfully pairing Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy during his first stint with India, Tan’s focus will be on building strong doubles partnerships and enhancing bench strength as part of India’s preparations for the 2026 Asian Games and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Speaking about his return to the Indian set-up, Tan said he was very happy to be back in India. He said he was looking forward to creating a bigger group of doubles combinations capable of winning on the world stage. After working with Japanese men’s doubles pairs since 2019, Tan has arrived in India and joined the team in Hyderabad.
