During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to Thailand on Thursday, the country unveiled a special postage stamp featuring Ramayan mural paintings from the 18th century. This stamp was issued as part of the efforts to commemorate Modi’s visit. Expressing his gratitude, PM Modi thanked the Thai government for this meaningful gesture.
Further strengthening the cultural ties between India and Thailand, Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra presented PM Modi with the sacred scriptures, the World Tipitaka in Pali, during their bilateral talks at the Government House in Bangkok. This exchange highlighted the shared civilizational bond between the two nations.
PM Modi also witnessed a mesmerizing performance of the Thai Ramayana, known as ‘Ramakien,’ soon after his arrival in Bangkok. Reflecting on the experience, he described it as an enriching display of the cultural and civilizational links between India and Thailand, noting how the Ramayana continues to connect hearts and traditions across Asia.
