Guwahati, June 14 (NKTV): In a recent development, a team of Tinsukia Police has detained 12 Persons in connection with the lynching of a 34-year-Old Man in Korjonga Village of Doom Dooma on Saturday.
The deceased was reportedly lynched by a mob after he and another person was found moving in a suspicious manner in the village during the morning hours. While one of the duo managed to escape, the locals caught hold of the other and assaulted him.
A team from Baghjan Police Station later shifted the assaulted individual to the FRU Hospital in Doomdooma where he succumbed to his injuries.
Tinsukia SP Debojit Deuri on Sunday said the deceased belonged to Kordoiguri Village was a local goon who was earlier arrested by the Police in some other case. “The victim Sarat Moran used to be a trouble maker. He was even arrested earlier in a case. We are investigating what he was doing in the village so early in the morning. A search is on for his partner as well” the SP said.
