Twitter India MD booked after map shows J&K and Ladakh outside India
Guwahati, June 29 (NKTV): Twitter India Managing Director (MD) Manish Maheshwari has been booked under several sections of IPC after a map on Twitter’s website showed Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh detached from India.
The MD has been booked after a complaint was filed by a Bajrang Dal leader from Uttar Pradesh’s.
“Twitter India Managing Director Manish Maheshwari has been booked under Section 505 (2) of IPC and Section 74 of IT (Amendment) Act 2008 for showing wrong map of India on its website, on complaint of a Bajrang Dal leader in Bulandshahr” stated ANI in a post on Twitter.
It may be mentioned here that Twitter has removed the distorted map from its website.
