Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu the newly formed state government, under leadership of MK Stalin, has announced a 14-day lockdown in the state. During the lockdown all shops expect grocery, vegetables, meat and fish are barred from functioning.
For restaurants, only parcels and takeaways will be allowed to operate although other essential services will continue to ply in the lockdown. Expect online food delivery services all other e-commerce services will barred in this lockdown, the government said.
Meanwhile, Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu crossed the 25,000-mark on Friday as the state reported 26,465 new cases, taking the active infections to 1.35 lakh. The 197 deaths reported on Friday took the cumulative toll to 15,171.
