Unseeded Kristi Boro caused a major upset by defeating 4th seed Hetvee Chaudhari in three grueling sets 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 to move into the singles pre-quarter-finals of the ITF Juniors Tennis Tournament which is going on at the All Assam Tennis Association Complex, Chachal, Guwahati. The two Assam boys Kritanta Sarma and Antariksh Tamuly however lost their 1st round singles matches today.
The other two Assam players Jigyashman and Justina will play their respective 1st round matches tomorrow. It may be mentioned that the All Assam Tennis Association is organizing this prestigious tournament with the financial help of State Bank of India and other well-wishers. The singles pre-quarterfinals will start from 9:00 am tomorrow followed by the 1st round doubles matches in the afternoon.
