Veteran Cricketer Nabab Ali to be honoured with Bakulbon ‘Manab Mitra’ title

Veteran cricket coach Nabab Ali, who has dedicated 45 years to nurturing cricketing talent in Guwahati and Assam, will be honoured with the prestigious ‘Manab Mitra’ title. The felicitation ceremony will take place on February 1, 2025, at Bakulbon, Chatribari, from 3:00 PM onwards.

The event is being organized to commemorate the 94th birth anniversary of noted educationist and former Principal of Jawaharlal Nehru College, Boko, Jatindra Chandra Nath. His family has extended an invitation to all well-wishers to join in celebrating this milestone and recognizing Ali’s invaluable contribution to cricket. Author and renowned educationist Amarjyoti Choudhury will hand over the title to Ali on the occasion.

Another special guest Lieutenant General Pranab Bharali, the first Assamese officer to decorate this position in the Indian Army, will be present on the occasion. He was the first Director General of the Army Aviation Wing of the Indian Army.
